
Had some time off and decided to finally go bag The Brothers. To me, this peak has a similar allure as Rainier, almost always visible in the distance, calling you. Anyways it sounded like the perfect solo outing for me, and it sounded like a summit bivy would provide some pretty amazing views of the sound.
A nice lazy 7:30 start from Seattle got me to the trailhead at 10:00. Up the well buffed out Lena Lake trail and to the lower climbers camp by 1:00. A few guys were hanging out eating lunch before heading up higher to camp. From here the trail is well marked with pink tape and heads steeply into the woods before exiting at what I imagine must be Lunch Rock at about 4400 ft. (how many lunch rocks are there anyways?) On up you go, exiting onto a riverbed, which you follow up to the high climbers camp at the base of a teeny little glacier. This is where the routefinding starts becoming a factor.
